Thursday, August 13th, 2015 was a night to remember for Denver; the night Denver hosted Tromboranga Salsa Orchestra at its local venue La Rumba and helped make Salsa history in the U.S.A. The Barcelona based group is THE HOTTEST Salsa orchestra of the moment, all those who call themselves true "Salseros" know who they are. All over Europe and Latin America their presence is in high demand, they hardly have any down time at home because they are traveling from congresses to festivals, festivals to concerts, concerts to interviews and then repeat!
Colorado New Style Events, along with Juan Bachata Productions, Dj Rj and DJ Laureano had the honor of bringing this one-of-a-kind live experience here to Denver. And boy, it was even more amazing than we already expected it to be. We also had the honor of spending quality time over lunch getting to know the band, which is made up of Spaniards, Venezuelans, Peruvians, and Cubans. It is hard to believe that so many men, each with their own distinct personality and taste, can create such mind-blowing shows. While amazing music opportunities were not lacking here in Denver this year, the scene still remains young and naive, not many even knew what they were getting into when they bought their ticket. You can be assured that, after 90 minutes of goose-bump raising music that did not let a single person rest (not once!), we have converted a great majority into Tromborongueros who will not miss another show of theirs again!
Below are a few select photos from the event, more are avaliable on the CNS Events Webpage at http://www.cnstyleevents.com/tromboranga-tour. Keep your eyes open for next year's event and don't miss our Holiday Gala on December 12th and 13th, with World Salsa Champions Rafael and Carine. This is yet another amazing, talent filled event coming to Denver brought to you by CNS Events. Get your tickets before they go up!
Salsa, Bachata, and other rhythms are traditionally partner dances, distinguished by their accentuated hip and body movements. While each has their country of origin, these dances are the newest craze in cities around the world, already with a huge following all over Europe and constantly growing numbers in the U.S. Many people, who have already discovered these dances, have found themselves transformed, constantly seeking workshops, master classes, performances and social dancing events to continue learning.
As a craze of health and exercise hits the public, it is surprising how unknown the benefits that the habitual practice of these dances have on one's body
Here we summarize these benefits:
1.) Latin dance, whether in classes, teams or on the dance floor, becomes a constant healthy and complete form of exercise that not only gets us in shape but allows us to socialize and meet new, interesting people.
2.) Latin dancing works with body movement and rhythm, while sharpening our musical ear and enabling us to move more rhythmically and harmoniously.
3.) The steps and figures of Latin dancing teaches us to isolate body parts, awakening our awareness of how to move the torso, hips, or legs… to name a few.
a. The amount lower body work in Latin dance is more than substantial. With each basic step, we force ourselves to continuously move the lower body and improve our balance.
b. Hips and torso become a crucial part in Latin Dance, which works on the movement and flexibility of our spine. For women, this translates to a tightened waist and toned muscles.
c. The movements of the head, neck, and arms are critical in women, especially when it comes to styling elegance and finesse that is found in Latin dancing. This equally relates to more toned muscles, not just in the mid-section, but in the arms, shoulders and back as well.
4.) As one continues learning and practicing different styles, agility and speed, which one sees in dancers, become evident.
5.) Latin Dancing works coordination, connection and trust with a partner. In the most modern styles, you can work with lifts and tricks that require top physical condition.
6.) Latin dance, whether it be classes, teams or on the dance floor, become a constant healthy and complete form of exercise that not only gets us in shape but allows us to socialize and meet new, interesting people.
7.) Latin dancing, being sensual and strong rhythms, enhances our ability to charm, improves self-esteem, and allows us to express ourselves using a unique language
8.) The production and segregation of endorphin which occurs when dancing these rhythms gives those who dance a state of health, happiness and well-being that is scientifically proven.
9.) The habitual dancer, while they may appear lean, requires a constant caloric intake that is well balanced and not over saturated in one type of food. Limiting their amount of any specific food could result in a nutritional deficiency and cause long lasting damage in one’s body in the long run.
Many spend countless hours in a gym gaining muscle and strength but when it come times to test their resistance they fall short. The practice of habitual Latin dancing not only helps gain this same definition, but it allows those who practice to gain an overall healthier body that can endure without denying one’s body the necessary nutrition to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
