Dance and the arts are an essential part of a child’s development that is lacking in their education systems at this moment. Benefits include physical, mental, and characAter development that will stay with the child for the rest of their life.
Dance develops motor skills such as balance, coordination while building endurance and strength through cardiovascular exercise.
Through movement and dance children learn to release their emotions, giving them a healthy and safe outlet. It also helps develop leadership, self-respect confidence, respect for others, time-management, and teamwork, shaping them into positive members of society.
Education is not a “one size fits all” type of program. Some students will excel in subjects such as math or science while others will excel in literature and the arts. It is imperative that a child’s education is well rounded and includes dance and art education, to allow all students a chance to succeed.
CNS is devoted to promoting dance as a part of a healthy lifestyle. They offer after-school classes at the studio and at near-by schools. Programs include scholarships for low-income children in an effort to make dance accessible to the entire community. We will also be offering summer camps in 2015.
